NEW DELHI: "If Pakistan hangs (Kulbhushan) Jadhav+ , then India must recognize Balochistan as an independent country," said BJP MP Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday, following yesterday's announcement that it has sentenced the Indian national to death+ .
The Rajya Sabha MP further said if Pakistan commits another atrocity after this then its Sindh province should also be "seceded out of " what's left.
Pakistan+ yesterday sentenced Jadhav+ to death on charges of "involvement in espionage and sabotage activities". He was arrested on March 3, 2016. India has consistently and vigourously denied+ he is or was a spy. And Pakistan has repeatedly refused to grant India consular access to him.
Yesterday, Swamy had said that the government must warn Pakistan of serious consequences after it awarded death sentence to Jadhav.
"We should prepare to take stringent action against Pakistan. Today, we should give warning that consequences would be bad for Pakistan if Jadhav is executed," Swamy had told reporters outside the Parliament.
He also said that nation should discard the "wrong perception" that an India-Pakistan friendship is necessary to have Hindu-Muslim unity in the country.
