100 Disappeared Balochs Killed in 7 Months: VBMP

The Baloch Hal News

QUETTA: President of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Nasrullah Baloch, has said that the issue of missing persons was worsening with each passing day as about 100 missing persons had been killed during past seven months in the official custody.

“If the killing of missing persons does not stop and the disappeared are not resurfaced and produced in the courts,” he warned,”BMP will start a long march towards Islamabad.”

He was addressing a press conference here at Quetta Press Club on Monday.

Nasruallah, whose uncle Ali Asghar Bangulzai, a tailor master, has been missing since 2001, founded the movement for the recovery of the missing persons as early as 2005 which has today become a Balochistan-wide massive campaign demanding the release of the missing persons.

Nasrullah Baloch said that instead of releasing and recovering missing persons, their mutilated bodies were being sent to their homes. “Missing persons were picked up by secret agencies and security forces from their homes and now they are being killed and responsibility is accepted by secret organizations carrying phony names,” he alleged.

He said that missing persons were subjected to severe torture, such as electric shocks and shooting in the head, before being killed.

“Neither Islam nor the constitution of the country permits torturing and brutal killing of innocent people”, he reminded and added that if the disappeared people had committed any crime or were involved in any anti-state activity they should be produced before the court of law.

The VBMP Chief strongly rejected the claims of government regarding efforts for the recovery of missing persons, saying despite a democratic government in power and an independent judiciary in place, secret agencies and security forces continued to violate human rights in Balochistan without any fear.

Criticizing the judiciary and government, he said that dead bodies of around 100 missing persons’ had been recovered but they had kept a mum. “We appeal humanitarian organizations to take immediate notice of this human tragedy,” he said, and adding that VBMP along with the relatives of missing persons would soon start a long march towards Islamabad to draw the attention of humanitarian organizations and high ups of the country towards the missing persons issue if their demands were not accepted.

Later on, they staged a protest demonstration outside Quetta Press Club against the killing of missing persons.

They were carrying portraits of their beloveds and placards inscribed with different demands. They were also shouting slogans such as “Stop killing of missing persons”
