Police officer gunned down, 6 Levis officials taken hostage by BLA

Occupied Balochistan: Unknown assailants gunned down a sub-inspector near Kirani Road in the Provincial Capital on Friday, police said. Police sub-inspector of Airport Road Police Station Wajid Ali Bangsh was going to Imam Bargha Hazara Town from his home on his motorcycle when unknown assailants opened firing on him, killing him instantly.

The attackers also took away the motorcycle after committing crime. The body was taken to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for autopsy. The victim received two bullets in his chest, hospital sources said. “Investigations were underway to reveal motive behind the murder whether it was incident of target killing, sectarian killing or not,” a senior police officer told.

Tehsildar, 6 levymen taken hostage: A Levies driver was injured and six personnel, including Tehsildar, went missing when they were chasing the assailants who opened fire on their official vehicle in Mastung town, official sources said.

Unidentified persons opened fire on an official vehicle of Levies force injuring the driver Degari area of Dasht in Mastung District. The assailants tried to escape after the attack. However the personnel went missing mysteriously while chasing the attackers.

“Tehsildar Mohammad Ahmed was in contact with us when they saw the vehicle of attackers near Marwar area and also informed about indiscriminate firing carried out by the armed men,” an official said and adding that after the conversation which lasted few minutes, contact was suspended and since then there is no information about them. He said there could be possibility of hostage taking of Levies officials.

The personnel went missing identified as Tehsildar Mohammad Ahmed, Naib Tehsildar Sabzal Khan, Akhtar Mohammad and identity of three other personnel could not be ascertained soon. More Levies personnel and other law enforcement agencies rushed the spot and mounted a manhunt for the criminals. “We have sealed the entire area,” he added.

According to BBC Urdu the Baloch liberation army spokesperson Meerak Baloch claimed responsibility for the attack. Mr Baloch said that the Levymen have been arrested by Baloch fighters and they were being investigated about their involvement in the abductions of Baloch political activists.
