Baloch Journalist Siddique Eido, Among Two Killed, Dumped in Gwadar

QUETTA: Two more bullet-riddled dead bodies of Baloch missing persons, including that of a senior journalist and activist of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) were recovered from Ormara area of Balochistan on Thursday.


Levies officials said that on getting information, Levies personnel headed by acting tehsildar Abdul Qayyum Baloch rushed to Pargari Sarbat area, near Makran Coastal Highway, some 64 KM away from Ormara and moved dead bodies to a local hospital for postmortem where they were identified as Siddique Eido Baloch and Yousaf Nazar Baloch residents of Pasni town.


Hospital sources said that both dead bodies were having severe torture marks and they were shot four bullets each in their heads that caused their instant death.


Siddique Eido Baloch was a journalist and member of HRCP in Pasni while Yousaf Nazar was stated to be a worker of Baloch Students Organization (Azad).


Sources said that both victims were abducted by unidentified armed men on December last year while travelling from Gwadar to Pasni.


The relatives of victims had set up a hunger strike camp outside Pasni Press Club for the last four months and accused government agencies for brutal killing of Siddique and Yousaf.


It may be mentioned here that just three days ago, five bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons were recovered from Khuzdar and Kech districts.


President Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Nasrullah Baloch said that over 140 dead bodies of missing persons had been recovered over the past eight months. “The names of most of the victims were in the list of missing persons were killed and their bodies were thrown in abandoned areas”, he said, and adding that the family members of victims accused security personnel and government agencies responsible for the killing and dumping of bodies.


Levies handed over bodies to their heirs after completing legal formalities and started investigation into the incident.


Meanwhile, a complete shutter down strike was observed in Ormara, Pasni and Khuzdar towns on the call given by Baloch Students Organization to condemn the recovery of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons. Markets and shops remained closed while traffic on roads was also thin.


Meanwhile, as per reports reaching here unidentified people set a government office on fire in Awaran town due to which records and furniture of the office were gutted.
