Pakistani occupeid Balochistan: Balochistan's 1.6m children out of school: Adviser


QUETTA - Adviser to Balochistan Chief Minister on Education Sardar Raza Muhammad Baraich has said that 1.6 million children are out of school in the province.

Addressing a ceremony held to remember martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar here, he said: "Around 1.6 million children are out of school in Balochistan, of them two third are girls". He said that Balochistan was far behind in education in comparison with other provinces.He urged that the parents to get their children enrolled at schools.

"We are raising awareness to convince parents to bring their siblings to schools to equip them with of education," he said.
He said that the government has been encouraging private schools in the areas which have no state-run schools. He said that about 12,000 settlements out of total over 22,000 have state run schools adding that most of them lacked required facilities.

"We need provision of adequate funds to provide facilities to all schools," he said. 

He said that terrorists targeted innocent children at Army School Peshawar. "We will have to play our joint role to curb terrorism and to defeat terrorists," he said.
