Six Pakistani security men killed and several injured in different parts of Balochistan

Occupied Balochistan: At least six Pakistani security personnel and a police Hawaldar, were killed while 16 others suffered injuries in separate violent incidents in different parts of Balochistan on Thursday.

A Frontier Corps official was killed and five others, including two security men, were injured when a remote device fitted in a car went off here in Badini Cross in Saryab Road of provincial metropolis on Thursday.

According to official Sources, an explosive device was attached with a car parked along with road near Badini Cross in Saryab area. The accused persons detonated it through remote control device between two official vehicles of Frontier Corps (FC) which were on routine patrol passed through the area. As result of powerful explosion, a Lance Naik Saeed died instantly while two security personnel and two passersby received splinter wounds. The car was completely destroyed while two official vehicles and a pickup were partially damaged in the blast.

The FC personnel cordoned off the area soon after the blast and did not allow anyone to visit the site. The injured security personnel were taken to Combined Military Hospital in Quetta while civilian had been shifted to Government Sandeman Hospital for treatment. According to Bomb Disposal Squad, around 20 kilograms of explosive materials were used in the blast.

DIG operations Hamid Shakil confirmed that it was remote controlled blast by saying that one of the FC vehicles had fixed a jammer and the first vehicle passed through then blast took place.

In Dera Murad Jamali, at least 2 security personnel were killed and 7 others injured in a remote controlled explosion in the Chattar area, official sources said. Unknown men had planted an explosive device along the Chattar Road, which they detonated when the convoy of a security forces was passing the area. Resultantly, two personnel of security forces died on the spot while seven others suffered critical injuries.

According to eyewitness accounts, a passerby had died because of intense firing soon after the blast. The deceased was identified as Amir Baksh Langvo and injured as Abdul Rashid Lehri. Local administration, soon after the incident, reached the site and shifted the victims to the Dera Murad Jamali civil hospital. Law Enforcement Agencies have launched a search spree for the culprits.

In Turbat, two personnel of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) were wounded when their vehicle was attacked with a remote controlled bomb in main Turbat Bazaar. “The device was planted with the motorbike and went off as the vehicle of NFC passed through,” a senior police officer said and adding that two personnel were injured while official vehicle was damaged in the attack.

The blast created panic in bazaar as the personnel opened blank fire in the air to scare the people soon after the blast. An investigation has been started into the attack.

The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack on Pakistani security forces and claimed that at least five security personnel have been killed and two wounded in the blast. Basham Baloch the spokesperson for the Baloch resistance Organisation said that it will continue such attacks until the occupying forces’ withdrawal from Balochistan.

In Sohbatpur, police constable and attacker were killed and two other personnel were injured when a group of armed men ambushed a police check post on early hours of Thursday. Official sources said that a group of people armed people carrying sophisticated weapons opened fire at police check post within the limits of Panhwar Senhari police station, killing a head constable Akhtar Hussain Lashari instantly while injuring two others.

In retaliation one of the attackers died on the spot while others fled from the scene. The attacker who was killed has been identified as Abdul Rashid Bugti and two personnel identified as Sabir and Gulam Ali.

A heavy contingent of police rushed the site and threw a cordon in the area for the manhunt. The banned outfit Baloch Republican Army (BRA) had claimed the responsibility of the attack and vowed to target law enforces in future as well.

Meanwhile, the locomotive of passenger train Bolan Mail was damaged in a remote control explosion near Sibi district. The device was planted along with railway track and detonated it through remote control when Quetta-bound Bolan Mail carrying passengers from Karachi passed through on it.
