Occupied Balochistan– At least six people, including three settlers, were shot dead and four others sustained injuries in different incidents in Turbat, Quetta and Dera Bugti towns of Balochistan on Tuesday.

According to the SHO Turbat City Police Station, unidentified armed men barged into a residential quarter of a tailor in the main Turbat Bazaar and opened indiscriminate fire on occupants and escape from the spot. As a result, three people identified as Akhtar, Mohin and Sabir were killed on the spot while Muhammad Ayub and Sabir received multiple injuries. The injured and deceased were shifted to the hospital.

The police sources said the victims belonged to Lodhran area of Punjab and the incident seemed to be a case of target killing. However, investigation was underway to ascertain the motive behind the incident, they added.

The bodies of victims have been dispatched to their native town; however, no group has so far claimed the responsibility for the killings.

In another incident, three people were killed in Quetta over what police described as a land dispute.

Police said the victims’ vehicle was targeted at Qambrani Road as unidentified attackers sprayed a volley of bullets. Resultantly, Manzoor Ahmed, Adam Khan and an unidentified man died instantly. The attackers managed to flee the crime scene. The dead bodies were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for autopsy. “It appears to be a case of dispute over a piece of land while investigation has been started to unearth the reason behind the incident,” a police officer told TheNation.

On the other hand, two tribesmen received serious wounds in a landmine explosion in Dera Bugti.

Police sources said Nabi Dad and Alam were on their way to the farmland when their tractor trolley hit a landmine near Levies Thana. Landmine blast caused serious injuries to the two who were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
